Protoboards

Product Description

Finished prototyping your project and ready to make it permanent? Looking for something more familiar to use then those individually unconnected pad holes of a regular perf board? Enter the protoboard. Our protoboards are designed to mimic the same internal wiring as a breadboard with each column of pad holes connected to every other pad hole in the column and that column only.

Measuring at just 45mm[L] x 33mm[W] x 1.6mm[H] the Mini is sure to fit into just about any of your smaller project cases and is ready to provide a solid base for your latest build. Don't forget to secure your project with it's two optionally grounded 3mm (M3) mounting holes.

To ease transitioning your projects from breadboard to your new protobooard, the proto's layout mimics the same wiring as a breadboard. This means that the holes in each lettered column are electrically connected to all the other holes in that column, and that column only. The holes 0-4 in column A are connected to each other but not to the other columns, column B's holes are connected to each other but not to the other columns, and so on. Since we retain the breadboards internal wiring layout, your schematic wont require a single change to move to the new protoboard.

With so many protoboards on hand you may forget which one is connected like a breadboard and which ones aren't. These protoboards remove that issue altogether by showing you how all their holes are connected on their face. If you look at the silkscreen on your protoboard you'll notice that each hole is connected to each other hole in the same column by the black silkscreen, that is showing you the boards internal connections. So you'll never need to worry if you have the right board as you can tell just by looking at it.

The protoboard mini can be used to determine the internal electrical connections

Many Protoboard's have extra features where room provides. The Mini has added an additional 6 pads on each side of the board both sets of pads are connected to the internal ground plane of the board as well as the main two M3 mounting holes (While we refer to it as a ground plane, technically it's not connected to anything except the 12 pads and the mounting holes providing you with extra options as you see fit.). The silkscreen diagrams will also show you internal connections of the mounting holes and pads.

Icon used to identify breadboard style connections on a protoboard Boards are additionally marked with this small chain-linked bread icon to indicate internal wiring is linked like a bread board. Pretty good right? Almost a dad joke even. Older boards may just contain the image of the linked chain alone.
